The artist has handed over the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound award winnings to the trust for venues, which operates to save the Britain's small music venues.

Fender was presented with the prize on mid-October as his latest record his work was named the best record of the previous year.

Fender has decided to give the cash to the Music Venues Trust, in recognition of the essential function grassroots venues fulfilled in his initial steps.

"I wouldn't be doing this success if it hadn't been for all the shows I performed around the region, and beyond, when I was just getting going," remarked Sam Fender. "These locations are legendary, but they are in difficulty."

Since the start of 2023, at least 150 of these locations have permanently closed – roughly one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.

In the last year, well-known musicians like Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the MVT in its efforts to keep the scene afloat, by applying a minor surcharge to their admission fees, which goes to help independent venues.

He also joined in, collecting in excess of £100,000 on his recent tour to assist 38 small stages across England, Scotland, and Wales.

These funds helped venues that were dealing with imminent closure due to challenges arising from floods, blazes and family tragedies, as well as regulatory hurdles, court cases and noise complaints.

Additional spaces obtained monetary aid in upgrading facilities and technical equipment that directly benefitted performers and concertgoers.

"The concept that revenue from concerts in big venues backs the smaller venues, where it kicks off for musicians like me, is just sensible," Sam Fender has stated.

That year, artist the artist shared her award between several good causes, including the children's charity and a Sickle Cell charity.

"I also donated a grand to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I did gymnastics when I was a child and they needed updated gear," she shared with outlets.

In recent years, they gave their funds to the community center that nurtured their act, as well as other local music groups.

Additionally the 1994 recipients the group contributed their winnings to a MS organization after a close contact was found to have the illness.

"Winning was sufficient," said artist Small. "The money was the bonus but we didn't require the extra, because we had the honor. So our victory affected somebody else's life."

In the past week, the MVT shared it had protected several local spots in south-east England, by transferring them to public stewardship.

One venue in Southampton and The Croft in Bristol were acquired under the public acquisition program, which is supported by the arts council and enthusiasts who purchase "shares" in the venues.
